SOSA, together with the Slovak Planetarium Association, participates in the preparation of the planetarium in Bratislava on the Danube embankment. It is important to us that more than 500 schools and residents of the Bratislava region can visit a modern facility for the popularization of astronomy and natural sciences.
In 2019, we completed the project documentation of the planned planetarium in cooperation with the investor of the new complex of buildings on the Danube embankment. We are also cooperating intensively with the City of Bratislava on the preparation of the operation regime of the planetarium and we are continuing educational events for the public.
The most visible part of these popularization activities are public astronomical observations with telescopes on the Danube embankment and at special events, thus promoting awareness of astronomy in public space.
